Our wound healing clinic focuses on healing chronic wounds, which are wounds that do not heal on their own within 30 days. About Outpatient Clinics

Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, bringing a multitude of care options to the communities that we serve. There are over 40 different types of primary care and specialty practices, which allows those who work in these clinics the opportunity to learn and explore various interests or to specialize in one area.

Scope of work

Assesses, monitors, detects, plans and takes appropriate action to prevent potential physiological complications associated with wound, ostomy or continence. Provides information and instruction to patients and their caregivers. Collaborates with and serves as a resource for other health professionals to promote delivery of quality services and patient education within the institution as well as the community. Participates in projects related to area of Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing and developing and evaluating educational materials and programs and policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (BSN) required upon hire.
  • One year of relevant experience Clinical Nursing Required
  • Experience teaching patients (pediatric and/or adult), families, and other health professionals Required
  • Work may include travel to other campuses
  • LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - State of Michigan required upon hire
  • CRT - Wound Ostomy or Continence Nurse, Certified (CWOCN) - WOCNCB Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board 2 Yrs required
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association or ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required
