The Associate Director is responsible for the daily operations of the Nursing Department. Acts for the Director of Nursing in Director's absence. Acts as liaison between hospital and outside agencies, ie Fire Department, Con Edison, Brooklyn Union Gas, Building Department, and State Health Department. Plans, implements, and evaluates all clinical care services provided by the unit, as well as all associated administrative operations and activities Designs, establishes, and maintains an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the organization's goals and objectives; recruits, employs, trains, supervises, and evaluates unit staff Reviews, establishes, and maintains patient care protocol s and standards, ensuring that all federal and state policies, regulations, and guidelines for patient care are met Establishes and coordinates quality improvement, safety, and infection control programs Oversees the overall operations of the unit (s) reporting to this position Establishes and implements short- and long-ra"The Associate Director is responsible for the daily operations of the Nursing Department.
